Customize Ubuntu 24.04

Note : For the entire customization process, you will need to have an active internet connection.
Step 1 : Ensure that your system is up to date, and install the necessary application along with its dependencies.
👉 Ensure that your system is equipped with the latest packages.
👉 Ensure that the application and its dependencies are installed.
Step 2 : Download the support packages.
👉 Please click on the "Download" button to access and download all the support packages.
Step 3 : Could you please set up the gnome extensions on the system?
👉 Install the gnome extensions
👉 Make sure to create a ".theme" directory in your home directory.
Step 4 : Set up the gtk-4.0 directory and then proceed to install the orchis gtk theme.
👉 Set up the gtk-4.0 directory and then proceed to install the Orchis gtk theme.
👉 Extract the Orchis gtk theme
👉 Set up the Orchis gtk theme.
Step 5 : Set up the icon and cursor theme.
👉 Create a directory named "icons" in the "home/.local/share" directory.
👉 Extract the icons and then proceed to install them.
👉 Make sure to create a directory named ".icons" in your home directory.
👉 Proceed with extracting and setting up the cursor theme.
Step 6 : Go ahead and set up the fonts and wallpapers on the system.
👉 Extract and then proceed to install the fonts.
👉 Retrieve and set up the wallpapers.
Step 7 : Set up the conky widget by installing and configuring Conky.
👉 Install Conky on your system.
👉 Extract and set up the Conky configuration.
Step 8 : Install cava AV and neofetch on your system.
👉 Install the cava AV.
👉 Set up the cava AV configuration by extracting and installing it.
👉 Go ahead and set up neofetch on the system.
👉 Set up the neofetch configuration by extracting and installing it.
Step 9 : Install the fish shell along with oh-my-posh.
👉 Set up the fish shell on your system.
👉 Update the default shell to the fish shell.
👉 Set up oh my posh.
👉 Ensure that the "oh my posh" program is executable.
👉 Set up the fish shell configuration by extracting and installing it.
👉 Could you please adjust the permissions of the "oh my posh" file?
Step 10 : Ensure that flatpak and application image support are enabled.
👉 Proceed with the installation of Flatpak.
👉 Include the flatpak repository in the system.
👉 Execute all the necessary commands to install the flatpak applications.
👉 Ensure that all commands are executed to activate orchis GTK theme support for flatpak.
Step 11 : Install the gnome applications.
👉 Execute the command to install necessary gnome applications.
Step 12 : Install a new Plymouth theme and set it as the active theme.
👉 Proceed with the installation of Plymouth.
👉 To set up the MacOS plymouth theme, you can extract the files and then install them following the provided instructions.
Note : Please choose the hexagonal_dots theme by selecting Option '2' for the plymouth theme.
👉 Make the necessary changes to the initial RAM filesystem.
Step 13 : Adjust the gnome shell settings.
👉 Extract the configuration settings for the GNOME 46 desktop.
👉 Adjust the configuration settings for the Gnome 46 desktop.
Note : To apply the changes, please either restart your system or log out and log back in.
Step 14 : Eliminate snap applications and services.
👉 Make sure to back up the "snap" folder located in your home directory.
👉 Review the snap applications currently installed on your system.
👉 Remove all snap apps from your system.
👉 Remove the snap daemon from the system.
👉 Clear the snap cache.
👉 Prevent snapd from being installed
Step 15 : Set up the Firefox web browser.
👉 Add the Mozilla team PPA to your system and then proceed to update the packages.
👉 Fix the following warning: https://ppa.launchpadcontent ..... weak algorithm (rsa1024).
👉 Install Firefox using the Mozilla team PPA.
👉 Enable automatic updates from the Mozilla team's PPA.
👉 Ensure to reapply pinning preferences by updating the packages once more.
👉 Move your Firefox data from the Firefox snap to the new Firefox instance.
Step 16 : Add the Firefox theme to your browser.
👉 Navigate to the home/downloads directory.
👉 Clone the Whitesur Firefox theme repository from GitHub.
👉 Navigate to the directory for the whitesur Firefox theme.
👉 Download and apply the Whitesur Firefox theme.
That's it! Congratulations, you've successfully converted the Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop environment into a stunning, elegant, fresh, and modern workspace.
